Pure Blue Japan are by no means strangers to the Natural Indigo-dyed Denim game, with the brand maintaining a long-term relationship with the revered Tokushima-basedShokunin (craftsmen) responsible for bringing to us the coveted hank-dyed Natural Indigo jeans and jackets from past collections. For their latest "AI" series, Pure Blue Japan have developed a lighter-weight denim featuring 7 count yarns in both the warp and weft, to give the fabric face a relatively uniform texture. What is unique about this latest iteration is that the weft yarns have been initially dyed in beige, before being hank-dyed in Natural Indigo. This introduces a subtle contrast in the overall hue present in the denim.
