This pair of jeans holds a very special meaning for me—it was purchased with the first salary I earned when I started working. I chose this pair because I was immediately drawn to the distinctive arcuate and the unique character of The Flat Head's fabric.
What fascinates me the most is the tate-ochi (vertical fade). This type of fading is usually most prominent on heavily slubbed denim, but on The Flat Head's pioneer fabric it appears remarkably clear, creating a distinctive texture and rich blue tone.
Over the years, the jeans have gone through several repairs-patches on the knees, crotch, and cuffs. Rather than diminishing their value, these repairs have made them even more personal to me. Every sign of wear and repair tells a part of the journey they have been through.
For more than ten years, this pair has accompanied many phases of my life-and to me, that is truly priceless.
